We partner with other non-profits in getting the word out to our legislators regarding the issues that directly impact PAYA (pediatric, adolescent and young adult) Cancer patients and their families. As dedicated advocates, we strive to ensure that the general public is aware of the issues at hand, and then encourage our legislators to learn about the impact Cancer has on the patient, survivors, and families members.
We attend workshops and conferences to learn about the issues and march with our fellow families in Washington DC at the annual CureFest Event.
In addition, we provide community outreach and awareness through speaking engagements at conferences, groups, and events. If you are interested in having someone from SGCF speak at your next engagement or to learn more about our advocacy efforts, please contact our Executive Director Nick Giallourakis at nick@elephantsandtea.com for more information.
